Blooms - Early Years Nature-Based Sessions

Blooms offers nature based, play filled Early Years sessions designed to honour children as capable, curious and deeply connected to their environment.

Inspired by Reggio Emilia and guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), learning emerges through play, exploration and relationships. Children are supported to follow their interests, engage with open ended materials and build understanding in ways that feel meaningful to them.

Sessions are held in calm outdoor spaces where nature acts as a teacher, inviting curiosity, wonder and connection.

What to Expect

Blooms sessions run for 1.5 hours, from 9:30 am to 11:00 am, across two five-week blocks. Please note, there are no sessions on Friday, 29 May. Term 2 begins on Friday, 24 April 2026.

Our sessions are thoughtfully designed for little explorers aged 18 months to 5 years, although children of all ages are welcome. Blooms is particularly supportive for children who benefit from gentle routines, unhurried play, and opportunities to build confidence, independence and a love of learning.

Children move freely between experiences, choosing where to engage and how long to stay. There is no pressure to participate in any one activity; children are welcome to observe, return, or explore at their own pace. The environment offers a rich blend of nature, creativity, and hands-on exploration, designed to support early literacy, numeracy, science, fine motor skills, and social development - all through play, connection and curiosity.

Halfway through each session, we gather for a small shared morning tea (included in your booking). Children are invited to enjoy fruit, vegetables, and crackers if they wish, while listening to a story together. This gentle pause offers a moment of connection, nourishment, and shared storytelling before returning to play.

Families are welcomed as partners in learning and remain present throughout the session to offer reassurance, connection, and support. This shared experience allows families to witness learning in action, strengthen relationships and build confidence alongside their child.
