Hi, I’m Cassie - mum of two, nature play advocate and the founder of Petal and Play Learning.
With a Bachelor of Science (Environmental Biology) and a Master of Teaching, I’ve always been fascinated by how young children learn best: through movement, play, and meaningful connections with the world around them.
Before becoming a parent, I spent time travelling across Western Australia as part of a science roadshow, bringing hands-on science experiences to children in remote and regional communities - including some incredible places as far north as Kalumburu.
Petal and Play Learning was born from a desire to create a gentler, more play-based pathway to school readiness - one where children feel confident, capable, and deeply connected to the natural world.
Our sessions focus on building early literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional skills through real experiences: climbing logs, spotting bugs, counting gum nuts, mixing potions, and sharing stories beneath the trees. School readiness doesn’t have to just mean worksheets or desks. It can also look like curiosity, laughter, and joyful learning in the open air.
Whether your child is learning at home, attending pre-kindy, or doing a little of both, Petal and Play is designed to complement their early learning journey, offering something magical alongside the everyday.
I'm so excited to support your little learner on their journey; with joy, connection, and nature at the heart of it all.
