Explorers offers nature-led science workshops for children who are ready to investigate the world more deeply.
Learning is guided by curiosity and inquiry, with children encouraged to ask questions, observe closely, test ideas, and share their thinking. Experiences are hands-on, meaningful, and grounded in real-world exploration.
Inspired by Reggio Emilia, children are viewed as researchers, capable of constructing knowledge through experience, collaboration, and reflection.
Nature provides both the context and the curriculum. Outdoor environments support problem solving, resilience, and critical thinking while offering endless opportunities for scientific discovery.
Children develop scientific language and understanding in ways that feel authentic and connected.
Explorers sessions run for 2 hours (9.30am to 11.30am), once per term, with Term 1 starting on 10 March.
Sessions are drop-and-go and limited to 8 children, making them ideal for homeschool or primary school-aged families, though parents and caregivers are welcome to stay and support their child if they wish.
These sessions support children who benefit from hands-on, inquiry-based learning, offering opportunities to build confidence, resilience, and a love of discovery.
Each session begins with a welcome and shared moment together, creating a sense of belonging and rhythm. Children are then invited to engage in a range of nature-led science experiences, exploring biological, earth and space, physical, or chemical sciences depending on the term.
Activities are hands-on, meaningful, and designed to encourage observation, questioning, problem solving, and collaboration.
